Chivas Brothers Sailing Club

The club runs a Sadler 34' yacht from Largs Marina, with membership is open to employees of Chivas Brothers. For more information, please contact the Club Secretary.

Club History : The club was formed in 1984, as part of the Allied Lyons Cruising Club. The club yacht, Dronac Dancer was launched in 1985 and is named after the Dronac burn, which feeds the Glendronach Distillery. The club offers evening, overnight, weekend and longer sails from Largs. Members have enjoyed many fond visits to Rothesay, Millport and Tarbert and other Clyde ports and on to Dublin, the South West Coast of Ireland and as far north as Skye. Visit the Crinan Canal or go round the Mull of Kintyre to visit to Gigha, Islay, Jura, Rum, Eigg, Mull, and on to the Southern Outer Hebrides. In 2007, the Club became the Chivas Brothers Sailing Club.

Latest News : Feb 07 -The Dronac Dancer successfully completed her first trip of the 2007 season by setting a new record time for the PWT of 41 min 50 sec, beating last year's record time! Photos added - 2 new pages- the first season's sail to Millport and overnight in Feb.
